About the author

After earning his diploma in Welding Engineering & Robotics from Conestoga College in Kitchener, Ontario, Paul Murray has specialized in integrating new technology and automated solutions into the welding industry. Today, his primary focus is on procedure development for piping systems welding in Western Canada. Paul began his career in the field in 2010, gaining experience in procedure optimization with an array of materials, welding processes and applications in a variety of industries. In his early work as a welder, Paul earned qualifications with the AWS and CWB for SMAW and GMAW. He hopes to show the reader how the correct approach—even complex welding procedures—can be automated to enhance welding safety, quality and productivity.
